How to Give
Friendship Center relies heavily on private funding to provide expert services that support quality of life in the community for people affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Private funding comes to us in various forms, including general donations, dollars raised through our fundraising events and annual campaign, foundation grants, corporate support, and bequests. Below are ways you can help support Friendship Center.
Friendship Circle & Planned Giving
Friendship Center's Board of Directors founded Friendship Circle to honor the generosity of
donors who are helping build the Center's Endowment Fund and provide stability for our daily
operational costs. We applaud these individuals for their foresight and commitment to
Friendship Center's mission.
Friendship Circle recognizes donors who name Friendship Center in their wills or trusts and those who make planned gifts to the Center, including donors who have made significant lifetime gifts. Gifts may be unrestricted, designated for programs, or designated for our Endowment Fund with only the interest income available for program operating expenses.
Annual Giving
Gifts towards Friendship Center’s annual campaign support families facing Alzheimer’s disease and other health-related problems that are in need of our services in the coming year. These gifts help to subsidize members who cannot afford the daily fee for our programs. Our HEART (Help Elders
At Risk Today) Program functions like a scholarship program, allowing us to continue providing
affordable day services for all in need, and respite for their family caregivers.
Tributes and Memorials
Any donation to Friendship Center may be given in honor or in memory of a loved one or in honor of a Friendship Center staff member. Please provide the name of the honoree and an address to notify the honoree or deceased’s family that the gift has been made.
Gifts of Stock
Donors who own stock that has significantly appreciated since purchasing it are able to give the stock to Friendship Center. This can result in a significant gift, an income tax deduction, and avoidance of capital gains tax.
