Special Events for Family Caregivers

A Night Out For Caregivers - sponsored by the United Way. The Friendship Center will be open from 5:30 - 8:30pm and will serve dinner and show a movie for members, so their caregivers can enjoy an evening out. This is a free evening off from caregiving, graciously provided by the United Way. Please RSVP as soon as possible to Linda at Friendship Center (969-0859), as space is limited.

Wednesday, September 24, 2008, 5 - 7pm
Open House at Friendship Center! Come celebrate Adult Day Services Week, hear esteemed neurologist Dr. Robert Harbaugh speak about the benefits of adult day services for patients and their families, and enjoy wine and hors d'oeuvres. Support Group for Caregivers

The Friendship Center Family and Caregiver Education and Support Group meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month in the morning from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.
The Alzheimer's Association, 1528 Chapala St., 2nd Floor also meets on the 3rd Monday from 5:45 - 7:00 pm. For additional information on Alzheimer's Disease visit the Alzheimer's Association website.

All family members and caregivers of a dependent elder are invited. Discussion, sharing, support, tears and laughter are welcome. As always, you are invited to join in the discussion or just listen.

This group is designed for spouses, adult children, relatives, caregivers, friends, or anyone interested in caring for the elderly.

Topics vary from month to month. This support group is dedicated to helping you care for an elderly person with physical or cognitive impairments and helping you take care of yourself at the same time.
