Tributes and Memorials

Any donation to Friendship Center may be made in honor or in memory of a loved one or in honor of a Friendship Center staff member. Please provide the name of the honoree and, if you wish, an address to notify the honoree or deceased’s family that the gift has been made.

Gifts of Stock

Donors who own stock that has significantly appreciated since it was purchased may give the stock to Friendship Center. This can result in a significant gift, an income tax deduction, and avoidance of capital gains tax. For more information about making gifts of stock and becoming a Friendship Circle Member, as well as other ways to give, contact Executive Director Heidi Holly at (805) 969-0859.

As a non-profit organization, Friendship Center relies heavily on private funding to provide the services that support quality of life in the community for people affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Private funding comes to us in various forms, including general donations, dollars raised through our fundraising events and annual campaign, foundation grants, corporate support, and bequests. Below are more ways you can help support Friendship Center. All donations are tax-deductible and will be recognized with written acknowledgement. Friendship Center is a certified 501(c)(3) agency.

Friendship Circle & Planned Giving

Friendship Center’s Board of Directors founded Friendship Circle to honor the generosity of donors who are helping build the Center’s Endowment Fund and provide stability for our daily operational costs. We applaud these individuals for their foresight and commitment to Friendship Center’s mission.

Friendship Circle recognizes donors who name Friendship Center in their wills or trusts and those who make planned gifts to the Center, including donors who have made significant lifetime gifts. Gifts may be unrestricted, designated for programs, or designated for our Endowment Fund with only the interest income available for program operating expenses.

For more information about making a planned gift and becoming a Friendship Circle Member, as well as other ways to give, contact Executive Director Heidi Holly at (805) 969-0859.

Friendship Garden Project

The Friendship Garden Project aims to create a renewed “sensory garden” in our courtyard. This model has been used all over the world for people with dementia, and is proven to be calming while also mentally stimulating. Improved walkways, new outdoor furniture, and dividers planted with succulents will help us better utilize our space and allow for privacy and reflection, as well as different social groupings. We look forward to making our outdoor space as enjoyable as possible for our members! Please contact Executive Director Heidi Holly at (805) 969-0859 if you would like to contribute to this project.
