Friendship Center offers a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for adults living with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, other forms of dementia, and related conditions. Our personalized programs can help improve your loved one's quality of life by providing:

Friendship Center offers subsidized dementia and Alzheimer’s care in Santa Barbara. We will never turn someone away due to an inability to pay. Our sliding-scale system makes it possible for anyone to benefit from our programs—regardless of financial means.

To enroll your loved one in Friendship Center, please contact your Family Services Team to schedule a tour and assessment.

We do not offer transportation services at this time. However, we can help you explore transportation options in your area.
Our Center caters to the behavioral and health-related symptoms of dementia. We are a secure facility, and our staff are trained to gently redirect worrying, agitation, and wandering. Attending the day program can help our members sleep soundly through the night. We assist with activities of daily living such as eating, walking, sitting and standing, and toileting.
Yes, Friendship Center offers respite care. This allows caregivers to take a break from their caregiving responsibilities while knowing that their loved one is in a safe and supportive environment.
We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid at this time. However, we offer subsidized day care programs and can help you explore other funding options. VA-eligible veterans may attend at no cost, and we can accept certain long-term care insurance plans. Contact us to learn more.
We’re always seeking volunteers to enrich our programs! Volunteer duties include leading a discussion or presentation, reading, playing music, singing or dancing, baking birthday cakes, helping decorate, and much more.
