Bid Early, Often and Big! Festival of Hearts Auction Is Live!

This year Friendship Center’s biggest annual fundraiser, Festival of Hearts, has gone virtual, and it’s live now! You have until February 6 to bid on a beautiful original artist’s heart, Valentine’s Day basket—did somebody say wine and cupcakes?—or unique experience. In so doing, you help us continue supporting isolated older adults with financial need. Covid 19 negatively impacts all our lives, none more than isolated older adults. The World Health Organization reports that older isolated adults—particularly those in cognitive decline—are at greater risk of negative outcomes, both physical and emotional.   Friendship Center is working hard to keep our members engaged and emotionally healthy during this difficult chapter in their lives. During Covid-19, we deliver fun and engaging adult day services via our virtual activity subscription program. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays 9 - 12 p.m. members can engage their social, emotional, physical and cognitive selves–—connecting with each other and maintaining friendships.  Members who don’t have access to a computer are provided with iPads and tech support to easily connect. Friendship Center is committed to providing this service via its Heart Program (Helping Elders at Risk Today) to every older adult regardless of their ability to pay.
