At Friendship Center, volunteers are part of the magic. Whether you're leading an activity, sharing a skill, or simply offering companionship, you help create the joyful, dignified environment our members deserve. Every hour you give makes a real difference for older adults living with dementia and the caregivers who love them.
Ways to Volunteer
Activity & Day Program Support
Help with music sessions, lead a simple craft, play cards with members, accompany someone on a garden walk or simply spend time sitting or chatting with a wonderful senior friend.
Fundraising or Administrative Support
Help with fundraising projects & campaigns, prepare outreach materials, update info packets, or assist with light data entry.
Connections Social Club or Memory Cafe Facilitators
Present on any topic you care about as a guest speaker, support discussion groups, help with brain games, or assist with projects.
Events & Celebrations Hosts
Set up décor, assist with serving food, greet guests, or help run activity stations at special events. We love to have parties!
Special Skills, Talents & Projects
If you have a professional skill or personal passion you’d like to share, we’d love to hear from you! Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Carpentry or light handyman work
- Interior design or space-planning help
- Graphic design (flyers, social media visuals, branding support)
- Photography or videography
- Landscaping or outdoor beautification
- Music, singing, or performance

Internships
Friendship Center is a rich learning environment for students who want hands-on experience working with older adults, dementia care, community programs, and nonprofit operations. We welcome interns from a wide range of academic backgrounds and tailor each placement to match a student’s interests, strengths, and learning goals.
